Today marks one year since Israel and the global Jewish community were forever changed.
In these challenging times, it’s crucial for the global Jewish community to unite in sorrow and solidarity. That is why we hope you will join us — and encourage others to do the same — in a simultaneous moment of silence tomorrow, Monday, October 7, at 12:10 p.m. EST / 9:10 a.m. PST that will be observed by Jews all over the world.
The Moment of Silence initiative is meant to connect events and commemorations on October 7 happening worldwide. Our hope is that this Moment of Silence is complementary to the other Oct 7 commemorations happening across your community. It is meant to be observed in conjunction with all other significant events that day, not in place of them.
The timing of the moment coincides with the moment of silence thousands of Israelis will be observing at home or at a gathering in Park Hayarkon in Tel Aviv. To that end, we encourage those of you looking for commemoration opportunities to tune into the livestream of the Bereaved Families’ Memorial Ceremony for October 7 Families, which will take place tomorrow at 7 PM Israel time/12 PM ET.
Together, our shared silence will send a powerful message of unity and strength to the world.
