A new report from the Henry Jackson Society, a UK-based think tank focused on advancing democracy, human rights, and combating extremism, further exposes Hamas’s systematic manipulation of casualty statistics during the ongoing war in Gaza.
Key findings from the report include:
• Misclassified Genders: Men with male names, such as “Mohammed,” are recorded as women to inflate female fatality figures.
• Adults Listed as Children: Adults are listed as children to increase the count of child fatalities, including cases of a 22-year-old listed as a 4-year-old and a 31-year-old listed as an infant.
• Natural Deaths Included in War Casualties: Fatalities from natural causes, such as cancer, are included in war casualty statistics. Gaza’s annual average of 5,000 natural deaths is not accounted for separately. Also, deaths from failed Hamas rocket launches are misreported as war casualties.
• Combatant Deaths Portrayed as Civilian Casualties: Over 17,000 Hamas combatants are estimated to have died, yet most media outlets depict these deaths as civilian casualties.
• Unreliable Data Sources: Reports rely on unverifiable public submissions and media narratives, bypassing scrutiny and judicial review.
This research underscores the deliberate misrepresentation of data by the Hamas terror organization to distort public perception.
