The Zionist Rabbinic Coalition, a community of rabbis that fosters love and dedication to Zionism and Israel among North American Jews expresses its appreciation to President Trump and Vice President Harris for running campaigns that recognized the importance of America’s relationship with Israel.
As rabbis deeply committed to the security and prosperity of the State of Israel, we acknowledge and celebrate the democratic process. The peaceful transition of power, a hallmark of American democracy, stands as a testament to the strength of democratic ideals that we hold dear, both in the United States and around the world.
The Zionist Rabbinic Coalition remains heartened by the ongoing support for Israel from leaders on both sides of the aisle in the United States, who recognize that a strong, bipartisan commitment to the Jewish state serves the interests of both nations and promotes peace in the region.
Although each candidate for president had different approaches to Israel’s right to defend itself, we appreciate both campaigns’ recognition that not only is Israel an important ally of the United States, but that she is fighting a battle against forces who threaten not only Israel, but our democracy and the western way of life.
In light of the recent election, and as we embrace a new chapter in American leadership, we reaffirm our belief in the strength of the democratic process. While there are those among us and in our communities who are pleased with the outcome and those who are not, the election has proven once again that the voice of the people is paramount and that dialogue, debate and the peaceful transfer of power are a source of pride in our nation.
The Zionist Rabbinic Coalition is encouraged by the continued collaboration between Israel and the United States and looks forward to further enhancing these ties in the years ahead. We extend congratulations to Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States and pray that the strong ties between our two democracies will continue to be strengthened.
ה’ עז לעמו יתן ה’ יברך את־עמו בשלום
May strength be granted to God’s people; may God bless this people with well-being.
