The Zionist Rabbinic Coalition supports the proposed peace deal introduced Monday by President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu and the prospects for the return of the Israeli hostages being held in Gaza.
In accepting the deal, Israel has once again shown its commitment to peace. The onus is now on Hamas to agree to the terms and to release the hostages. Hamas’ response will show if they truly care about the people of Gaza and want to end the hostilities. If they reject the deal and decide to continue the war, it should be clear to all that they are the ones who do not care about the lives of the Palestinians in Gaza.
The proposal offers the possibility for a new beginning for the region, and so we call upon our friends in the Arab world to exert their influence to encourage Hamas to accept the proposal and end the conflict.
We express our appreciation to President Trump and those who have been working tirelessly to find a solution that will ensure Israel can live in peace and security with the safe return of the remaining hostages.
In the spirit of the High Holidays, we hope this proposal will usher in a sweeter new year for the people of Israel, the Middle East, and Jewish people around the world.
